Excuse me for being a little blunt...but
People really need to stand up and see what it takes to bring about change. People are loathe to drive 10 miles and attend a state chapter meeting, and you want to overhaul a system to the extent that you get credit for time/experience in US?
I am not saying its a good or bad thing. What I am saying is, what you are asking for is a major overhaul. GC is driven by A PARTICULAR POSITION offered by A PARTICULAR EMPLOYER, where its proven that NO US CITIZEN WAS WILLING, QUALIFIED AND ABLE TO do the job. How can your previous job get you credit for such a position and petition driven GC process? If you want that, then system needs major change where GC is not drive by one particular job offer from one particular employer who sponsors you.
So basically, you are looking for a RADICAL change in the system. Nothing wrong with dreaming, but kindly show some friggin activity and effort on your part before putting up new ideas on forums.
Otherwise if you are sitting around and

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and our prayers are with you and your family.
But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.
Please send me the private e-mail if you need any help in Mumbai to reach good doctor in Tata Memorial Hospital.

The ones who are not staying in line and cutting ahead are the EB3 folks who are porting to EB2 ! Their line is the EB3 line. But they want to cut into the EB2 line whenever convenient. Atleast thats how most EB2 (and EB3) folks perceive the PD porting process.

I know nothing of what I say is enough to help you but again, I still say it with the hope that things will turn around for you. GOD HAS HIS WAYS, AND HE IS THE ULTIMATE FORCE IN THIS WORLD. I have often wondered, the chase we chase. The reality is nothing else matters but HIM yet it is so difficult to accept this reality and we chase the materialistic things in him which at the end, every one of us writing here and reading is going to leave behind one day.

My Case:
08/12/08 - Approval Notice Sent message (This is the only message I got)
08/18/08 - Received the Approval notice by post
No cards till now...:confused:
I actually spoke to Customer service and I got 2 very different responses.
1. Wait till you are an old man and then the cards may just come !! (Just Kidding ) she actually said wait for 90 days.
2. Another CSR told me that the TSC is having technical issues and they are not able to access the Biometric information on approved 485's in their systems. She advised me to download Form I-90 from the USCIS site and fill that in and send it in - if you have a minor on the petition then also send 2 passport size pictures of the minor - this will allow them to access the Biometric screen when they process the I-90. We will get Biometric notices and the Minor will get the card - the Grown ups will get the Cards after the Biometrics are uploaded.
I have not done this - eventhough I downloaded the I-90 forms - I took a INFOPASS appt and if they suggest that I should do a I-90 then I can get that done right on the spot - I am carrying the filled I-90 with me. Anyhow I-90 is usually submitted to correct errors on the card or to replace a card - however this woman sounded quite knowledgeable - but then there are issues realted to where the I-90 should be sent - this is specially complicated if your case has been transferred a few times like mine was.
Best is to check with the guys/gals at Infopass -meeting.
All this was from the rep at the TSC - so not sure if this is applicable to all centers.
AGAIN THIS IS WHAT I HEARD FROM THE TSC REP - PLEASE USE THIS INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK - I AM NOT SENDING THE I-90 ON MY OWN.

I personally think GC quota has a rationale behind it. It allows for a reasonable share to go to smaller countries so that the US population maintains its diversity. Besides, near the end of the year, if the numbers are unused, they are rolled over to larger countries like India and China, thereby automatically eliminating the quota.
If the original intend was to promote diversity (whether it is in FB or EB immigration), quota should be based on ethnicity of US population ( GC holders and citizens ). Ceiling should be applicable to countries those have a high percentage of representation in US population. Does India or China constitute a majority in US population ? No way. Indians and Chinese are a minority in US population.
The concept of "diversity" by country is a racially motivated law. It does not promote diversity. In fact it limits diversity.

And none of us should even complain when millions of illegals are suddenly made legal by the Government and they jump the line in front of us for no fault of ours and there are EB3s still waiting from 2001. The illegals have taken a risk right by jumping across the border and staying here illegally???

I looked at both the service center webpages(texas & nebraska) & I-485 application has to be sent to Nebraska only.I do not understand now why they are transferring the application from nebraska to Texas
if I-140 is approved at Texas.

Now just see the pattern, the moment we start talking about donation and volunteering .. the guys sitting on the sidelines distracting and demotivating , stopped being part of the conversation. Everyone says I am rude, not I am not I just show the mirror as it is.. what can I do if you see the ugly face in it.
How good the group can be , which is actually missing when you need the count.

We landed in Canada (Rainbow Bridge, Niagara) last week. No questions asked by Canadian immigration regarding stay in US. On the way back (Rainbow Bridge) US IO did not ask anything about 485 or Canada PR.
We filed AOS in July 2007 and have valid H1 visa in the passports. But it all depends on your luck and we had some personal reasons to land in Canada and we took the risk.

My attorney received my receipts as well as my wife's receipts...they sent me scanned receipts....PD Mar 2005...hand delivered to NSC on july 2nd...Received EAD 10 days ago...I-140 is from TSC...had a LUD on 5th august.....Receipts starts from SRC...it got transferred to TSC from NSC.. Received Date is July 2nd...Notice Date is August 14...
