SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.

The other day you spent the entire day answering every question(s) people had. I even told my wife that our good friend is going to take all our worries out pretty soon. DC is the right place even on a weekend also just protesting infront of the uscis office will get media attention .....we should plan for this.i know less than 1000 people will be a failure ..can we try to get the mood of the IV for this kind of event ...

This is a good idea - actually we could send flowers for cheap rates if we order it in bulk. Let me know who's in for this. We can open up a paypal account or use one of our own paypal account and start collecting funds and use it to send the flowers to the USCIS dept.

By the way - since I am in NOVA/DC, I can initiate some media coverage even if we can get some substantial number of people sending flowers.
Can anyone familiar with using paypal accounts come forward? I personally have never used them (except to donate to IV) so I would not be a good choice. That person will have to publish the nicknames (people can use whatever names they want if that is possible!) and the amount paid by each person at the end of the day.
This will help our cause... I believe more people will come forward if we do this. Of course others still have the choice of doing this individually as well!

I don't think having a MS degree supercedes a BS always.
How can you compare say for example a BS+10 yrs person with a kid just out of school doing MS. Doesn't jive. I think at somepoint both level off. Just merely having a MS degree doesn't mean anything without experience.

Holy cow... I cannot believe, I got my green card today...
My online case status changed to card production ordered today (1 hour ago).
I had filed during july fiasco and was not abel to send my medical tests , so had got RFE.
Then i took the medicals and sent the response in july 2009, and the status remained RFE response received for a long time.
I called NSC and opened a service request on Aug 18.
Guys believe me Service Request does miracles, they just approved it now.
So my journey came to an end after 7 years.
If I got green card, the whole credit goes to IV. You guys are really great, learnt a lot from this forum. Kudos to you all...
I will continue to visit these forums and help as much as I can.

I understand if the companies want to protect their business. Let�s say that X works at a client place through a vendor. X�s employer has an agreement with the vendor which says that he cannot employ his employee, the vendor has an agreement with the client which says that they cannot take X through another vendor.
My question is there a validity period for these agreements beyond which it becomes invalid. A couple of years should be ok but it is frustrating to be bonded to some employer for years because one doesn�t have freedom to move around and be with the same client.

I landed in Jan08 thru Windsor border in Michigan. I drove in my car to CA. You'll go to the immigration officer who'll check your landing docs, and then ask you to sign the landing document. Then show them the proof of funds. I had a cashier's check for the amount. Then you'll be asked for an address in CA. If asked tell them you are planning to settle at the address. If you say you are returning to US, they'll not give you the PR card saying when you come to live in CA they'll issue it. I made that mistake. They stamp your passport with the entry stamp. Without a PR card you can't enter CA at an airport. Your only option is driving to CA thru a land border. They'll let you in with just the stamp on the PP. Fortunately I live close to Windsor border.
As someone pointed out, you'll then go to customs, where they'll check the goods you are bringing or plan to bring later. There are 2 different forms for 'bringing goods with you' and 'goods to follow'. Make sure you fill in all the item in your home on the 'goods to follow' with some details like model number, etc. If you are not planning to live to CA, don't fill anything on the 'bringing goods form.

The answer is in your question. Numbers. A few years ago (circa 2002-) no one complained much about Indians. Recently the complaints in the media/forums etc. are much higher. Why ? More H1, => more bodyshoppers (mainly India) => more abuse => more complaints and so on.
Also FYI, H1 is "temporary" just like F1. H1 is not a guarantee to GC. So you need to go back after 6 years, since you say F1 should leave after graduation.
Thats my point. Why are pakistanis getting green cards and nobody is saying they have taken jobs away from Americans? So many come to US on visa free travel, work 6 months undocumented from european countries, yet they are the first to get the GCs while Indians abuse B1, they abuse H1. How come only Indians abuse everything no one else abuses anything?
